Pastor Orville K. Littlejohn started his ministerial journey as a native of Dayton, Ohio.

He accepted the call to ministry in October of 1989 and on the night of November 5 th

preached his first sermon. Rev. Littlejohn served for ten years under the leadership and

tutelage of Pastor Sylvester Walker rendering service ranging from assisting the Pastor as

teacher of the New Membership Orientation Class, leading the Young Men’s Mission

Ministry and serving as Evangelistic Outreach Coordinator.
 

The Reverend Orville K. Littlejohn has now served as Pastor of Messiah Baptist Church

since April 2000. Since that time he has led the congregation in the visionary mission of

evangelization, education, edification, and exhortation. He continues to expand on the

mission of Messiah through initiating such ministries as: BLAST (Bible Learning and

Spiritual Teaching for children), TLC (Teens Loving Christ), Puppet Ministry, Dance

Ministry, Social Media Ministry and weekly Bible Training for Ministry. A major

milestone in evangelization is demonstrated through a street ministry called Prayer at the

Curb.
 

He is committed to the execution of the mandate to “Shepherd the Flock By the Order of

the Most High.”
 

Reverend Littlejohn received an Associate of Science Degree in Quality Engineering, a

Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management, and a Masters of Divinity from

Ecumenical Theological Seminary. He was honored by the National Dean’s List as one

of America’s Outstanding College Students (22 nd Edition, Volume I).
 

He currently serves as President for the Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit and

Vicinity, Moderator of the Michigan District Baptist Association, Vice-President at Large

of the Baptist Missionary and Education Convention of Michigan, and Board Member of

Heritage Center for Religious Studies. In the realm of community service, he is the

Chaplain Commander for the 12 th Precinct of the Detroit Police Department.

Reverend Littlejohn has enjoyed a music ministry for over twenty-five years with his

brothers known as the Littlejohn Brothers. Working with his brothers they have recorded

three albums, rendered youth musical workshops, and sponsored a youth oratorical

contest along with many other achievements.
 

Pastor Littlejohn is a loving father, grandfather, and devoted husband to his wife Cheryl.
